Why Use Audio Presets?

What is a preset?

An audio preset is a group of saved settings that are automatically applied any time you create a new audio file or applying an audio effect. The beauty of a preset is that you can configure all your settings correctly with a single selection because these settings have already been tested with your audio hardware and format.

When should I use presets?

You should open a preset when you're not sure which settings to use. Try loading each of the presets until you get a result that you like, or you find something close to the result that you want. Then you can make small changes to the settings yourself, until you get exactly the result you want.

You should save a preset when you find some settings that you really like, and might want to use on other audio files. By saving the settings as a preset, you won't have to memorize all the numbers and settings you used to get that result - just load the preset file again.
